Denver architect Temple Buell
Denver architect Temple Buell is known as the "father of the shopping center," But he didn't actually build the first one. He impressed developers from Boston and Seattle so much, when he presented the idea for one at the Urban Land Institute, that they went home and planned shopping centers in those cities. Buell later developed the Cherry Creek Shopping Center.
